Khajjiar, known as the ‘Mini Switzerland of India’, is a small hill station located just 23km from Dalhousie. It is a beautiful plateau surrounded by dense forest and has a stunning lake in the center that reflects the surrounding mountains. It is an ideal place for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts. In summer, one can set up camps and enjoy activities like rock climbing, paragliding, and zorbing.

Dainkund, situated at an altitude of 2,755 metres above sea level, is one of the highest peaks in the region. It is known as a trekker’s paradise and the trek to the peak is an exhilarating experience. The peak offers a panoramic view of the surrounding valleys and hills covered with thick deodar and pine forests. It is also home to the famous Dainkund Temple, which is dedicated to Goddess Kali.

Panchpula is a popular picnic spot just 3km from Dalhousie. It is a beautiful stream point with a small waterfall. The stream feeds several water reservoirs and is the main source of water supply to Dalhousie, Banikhet and nearby villages. There are several trekking trails that lead from Panchpula to other nearby spots like Satdhara Falls and Daikundi Peak.

Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary is located 10km from Dalhousie and is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. The sanctuary is spread over an area of 30.69 sq km and is surrounded by dense forest and hills. The animal population includes black bear, Himalayan black marten, barking goral, and the rare Himalayan serow. The sanctuary also has several trekking trails that are a delight for adventure enthusiasts.
